Vesper Memorial Day Meal to feature 20 Marcon Pies.

A big thank you to Charlie Huehl for all the volunteer mowing and trimming he’s been doing at the community center. It’s a really, really big lawn and Charlie just gave the facility an extra nice mow and trim for the annual Memorial Day Meal Picnic on Monday. And a big thank you to Linda & John Wrench and Jeromy, Tiffany and Rylee Benien  for restoring the merry-go-round, it looks GREAT. We’ll have TWENTY delicious fruit pies being provided by Lincoln’s very own MarCon pie factory ready for everyone who stops by for “a little slice of heaven” with their grilled hamburger or all beef hot dog on Monday from 11:30a-2:00p. There will be apple, caramel apple, blueberry, cherry, peach and even perhaps strawberry rhubarb !! We’ll also have chips pickles, ice cream, pop and bottled water along with sugar free fudgesicles. The annual memorial day meal is open to the public, and is free, by donation, and every donation large or small, goes a long way to keep the lights on and the center’s programs going year round. It’s a great event to stop and have lunch while visiting grave sites and memorials around the county. Picnic tables will be setup inside and out, for rain or shine on Monday. When you visit be sure to see a wonderful artwork exhibit by area youth honoring our local veterans. Also a big shout out to Mity Mart for helping us provide condiments this year to go with our burgers and dogs and Meyer Tire and Lube for their financial support for this year’s event !
