Bingo in Vesper is wholesome family fun -next bingo Sat February 6th

Vesper bingo is happening this coming Saturday, February 6th at the Vesper Community Center at 1247 N 120th Rd in Vesper Township, Lincoln Kansas. The Vesper Community Center is conveniently located just a 1/2 mile south of K-18 in Vesper. Last month Kristen Haase from Elsworth won the $250 blackout round and 26 other players received cash prizes. Doors open at 5:30pm and delicious fresh made chicken noodle soup, cheesy potatoes, grilled burgers, loaded nachos, sundaes, root beer floats and fresh hot kettle cooked popcorn, snacks and drinks will be sold to fund raise for the community purposes of the center. The popcorn is being sponsored by Pioneer Hi-bred Seed of Sylvan Grove and is absolutely delicious! The games begin at 7pm and all 20 games can be played for as little as $6. Players can play inside the facility or from their cars using our parking lot FM broadcast and outdoor movie projection screen. Indoor players are asked to socially distance unless they are from the same household. A tradition for more than 50 years in Vesper, monthly Saturday night bingo is a fundraising event put on by volunteers to support and maintain the community center. Attendance and food consumption has been on the increase and nearly 70 people attended the January bingo and made the event a fundraising success. Takeout is also available during bingo and many locals visit and buy dinner. All the food is hot and ready and there is no need to call ahead. Volunteers last month included Linda Wrench, Paul Kuchera and Laura Huel, Colton Brummer, Marlin Huehl, Danny and Sheila Huehl, Michael and Nancy Kratky, David, Mona and Jack Gerstmann, and Hometown Convenience of Sylvan Grove who did all the food shopping. Jack and Morgan Gerstmann also moved a very heavy display case and set it up in the Vestibule (pictured) to showcase the center’s philanthropic donors and supporters. UV irridiation appliances were installed by Michael Kratky last month and MERV13 level filters have been installed in the HVAC ducts. Our furnaces have also just been professionally serviced and the facility will be toasty warm for next Saturday. A very special thank you to all the players last month who folded up their chairs and also helped with cleanup. This event would not be possible without our business sponsors who help keep the center’s bills paid and this includes the Bank of Tescott and Bennington State bank, S&S Auto Body and Meyer Tire & Lube, the Hungry Hunter, World Pest Control, Pioneer Hi-Bred Seed of Sylvan Grove, and Kansas Midwest Homes & Movers. Please support these local businesses. More info about our sponsors and links are available at www.vespercc.org.
