This Saturday on February 8th, the Vesper Community Center in Vesper Township 1247 N 120th Rd, Lincoln Kansas is hosting a Farm Show from 9am to 3pm. Immediately following the farm show- there will also be a volunteer, member, donor and patron appreciation open house happy hour reception fundraiser to help raise funds for a new floor from 3pm to 4pm. Both are free admission events.
This year there will be presentations and Q&A sessions from local 4H chapters, an FAA licensed drone operator, and a Pioneer area agronomist will provide the latest info about the new Enlist weed control system. These presentations will begin around 11am and continue thru 2pm. The community center volunteers will be offering breakfast and lunch as a community purpose fundraiser which will include fresh baked biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, chicken noodle soup, and grilled hamburgers. Ice cream desserts, snacks and beverages will also be on sale throughout the day. Our menu is very affordable, for example hamburgers are only $1.50 each and take out is available too. There will also be free chili while it lasts. Donations for the center are greatly appreciated.
This year, over a dozen local and regional vendors will have displays covering a range of product and service offerings. Several seed, fertilizer, pesticide and herbicide vendors will be on hand including representatives from Pioneer Hi-Bred, 118 Ag, Great Bend Coop, Crop Service Inc CVA and Seitec Genetics. Fuel and engine and equipment service and supply companies including Miller Diesel and injection service, Great Bend Coop Energy/Fuel and Travis Scale will available to answer questions. Financial insurance and online service firms including Farm Bureau Financial, the Bank of Tescott, Citizens bank, Mountain Plains Insurance, and Big Iron Auctions will be there too.
Vendors will be providing free raffle tickets and the center will be offering free prizes each hour. One of the prizes will be an insta-pot provided by Mountain Plains Insurance. There will be some free gimmees of course. Tables and chairs will be setup and patrons can sit relax and eat while listening to the presentations from 11am to 2pm that will be done in front of the stage. Our vendors are available to meet with you all day. Have a delicious meal, and listen to an aerial drone presentation at 11am or 1pm and a presentation on the EnlistR Weed Control System at 1:30pm.
From 3:00pm to 4:00pm following the farm show, the Community Center will also be hosting a volunteer, member, donor and patron appreciation and reception fundraising event with complimentary food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The public is welcome to attend and learn about recent and planned improvements for the center.
