Special Bingo May 4th for BKRT

Saturday May 4th 5pm-10pm – during the Big Kansas Road Trip, there will be a very special bingo with delicious food, live band music, Ford Model A’s, beautiful mural art, and wholesome family fun at the Vesper Community Center at 1247 N 120th Rd, Lincoln KS 67455, 1 mile south of K-18 in the center of Lincoln County. Doors and the concession stand will open early at 5pm. Free admission to hear the band and see the mural ! Don Wagner and friends will be performing live prairie music, originals and favorites from 5:20pm to 6:45pm on the stage inside the facility.


After the live music, art, fun and food, all ages can stay and play 20 games of bingo beginning at 7pm for as little as $6. Last month Dana Cheney from Beloit won the blackout round.


From 5pm thru 8:30pm grilled hamburgers and all beef hot dogs are only $2.50 ! There will also be locally home made cheesecake with cherry, blueberry and other toppings. There will also be loaded nachos, popcorn, sundaes, root beer floats, meringue pie, fresh baked cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies, chips and beverages all being sold by volunteers to fundraise for the community center. Food will be hot & ready and take out is also available, no need to call ahead.


The Wichita A’s Ford Model A club will be in attendance with upwards of a dozen of their restored vehicles ! The Wichita A’s Model A Ford Club’s roots go back to 1964. The membership is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Model A Ford which was manufactured from 1928 through 1931. Local Kansas artist Matt Miller will be exhibiting his “In the Wind” Mural at 6pm outside the community center and will be available for Q&A. Mr. Miller is also painting another mural in downtown Lincoln and will also be having a summer art exhibition at the Lincoln Art Center the following week.


Financial support for the mural has been provided by Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC) Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, the National Endowments of the Arts, KDOC Office of Rural Prosperity, KDOC TEFI/SEED, LCEDF and the Dane G Hansen Foundation.
